Cheap Vacation Tip #4 - Spend Time Together

The best part of your cheap family trip is spending time together. This actually makes the trip priceless!

Even if an attraction is "something you can do at home", sometimes you never have time to do that thing at home...and so a vacation is the perfect time.

For example, the only time we play minigolf is on vacation. Just no time to do it when we are not traveling!

Cheap Vacations Tip #6 - Keep in Touch

Honestly, I think that sending postcards is a dying art.

But it shouldn't be!

It is fun to pick out postcards, write a message, and send it off.

Postcards are inexpensive too. Buy stamps before you leave town so you don't have to hunt for a post office. Then, most hotels will mail the cards for you by handing them to the postman.

And think of the joy your postcard will give whoever receives it!

Family Cheap Vacations Tip #7 - Take part in what is unique

Finding a great attraction that "sums up" a vacation travel destination doesn't have to be expensive...

Panning for gems or gold in the mountains...

Having BBQ in Memphis...

Seeing the sea lions at the Pier in San Francisco...

Sometimes the best attractions are free or almost free.
